Existing Industry Program

The Wayne County Development Alliance (WCDA) has a well-established Existing Industry Program that connects industries with the resources they need to grow and expand right here in Wayne County. We understand the importance these industries have on the economic vitality of our community and the WCDA has a full time Existing Manager on staff devoted to the retention and expansion needs of our established industries.

Programs, Services and Assistance that support our industries: The WCDA wants to be the ’one-stop-shop’ for our industries. We are well connected with state and local officials, as well as community and utility allies that work together to make Wayne County the natural place for industry. The WCDA has an abundance of resources to assist our industrial base. We may not have all the answers but we know the people who do.

Visitation Program

We want our industries to know who we are and what we can do for them. Periodic visits by our Existing Industry Manager provide an opportunity for the WCDA to establish and maintain rapport and solid working relationships with our industry officials. It further fosters a better understanding of these businesses and their products. The insight and information received during industry visits can be used to identify supplier linkages, create new intra-county business relationships, and increase our understanding of the company’s overall business model. It also provides the company with the opportunity to learn more about the WCDA and our commitment to retaining and expanding our existing industries.

Incentive Grant Program

WCDA coordinates and oversees Wayne County’s Industrial Development Incentive Grant Program. The WCDA is on-hand to walk existing industries through the grant request process from beginning to end. We assist them with filling out the initial application and we present the grant request to the Board of County Commissioners for approval. Once the incentive grant is approved, we track the grant payments back to the industry throughout the duration of the grant. The WCDA is there to make the process smooth and simple.

Wage & Benefit Survey

The WCDA biennially offers our industries a chance to participate in a Statewide Wage & Benefit Survey administered by Capital Associated Industries at no cost to them. This survey is an invaluable tool and serves as a guideline for employers developing or improving their compensation plans.
